Love this. Wasn't in Paris for MFW but was in Amsterdam and Stockholm around the same time and noticed similar threads. Cigarettes very much on display in AMS. Wool as the hero fabric in Stockholm, bridging athletic and chic. And a real gap in woman-forward brands and spaces. On that note, I swung by Philos Running in Amsterdam (founded there!) and left surprised and let down twice: first by how flimsy the apparel felt, second by learning it's a women's running brand founded by a man.

Here for all of it, as you could probably guess! So happy you enjoyed my Paris recs, hope to enjoy some of them with you next time xx

I just love your posts, and I’m jealous of your ability to integrate your style with your athletic self.

Enjoyed reading this so much and I’m excited to see what you decide on bringing into the store - your thoughtful curation of brands and pieces is wonderful and refreshing.

First, I was probably one of those other women running through the Tuileries early in the morning. So dark.

Second, couldn't agree more with those trends! I will say that smoking here never left, but a thousand times yes to all the testosterone. I have been to men's week *many* times in my life, but it felt particularly MALE this time around. And I, too, was surprised by all the running! When I lived here 15 years ago I would spot a gentleman jogging in chinos and loafers about once a month and the gym had a smoking section, so it's nice to see this change!

Can't wait for spring Unna to get here, omg. Also, related I promise, I went to a women's college and I mostly regret it, for lots of reasons. But I love my women's lifting gym. I knew that I would when I read on their site something that was along the same vibes of how you describe deciding to NOT do only women's clothes (which I also love). It was something like, "Men are welcome but not prioritized." Depending on the case, I think it can be more powerful to take up space vs. isolate. Also also, one day I will dig up receipts to be sure, but I am 90% certain it took Bill freaking Rodgers, of all people and running eras, less time to design running clothes for women than it took/is taking some running brands today. Anyway, thank you for this gift of a recap as always.

'more powerful to take up space' - i love this.

I loved reading this post!! I didn't even know there was a PFW for men lol.... but I really enjoyed your honesty and the insight of what happens behind the scenes (because when would I ever be at PFW as a regular person?!) Anyhow.. I'm excited to see what brands and products pop up in the store.

Regarding smoking...I was just thinking the same but for SF!! Walking from the Mission to your store or even downtown....I've noticed more and more people are smoking again! People are stressing, I suppose.

i used to always ignore men's fashion week LOL. and ppl are def stressing. why worry about lung cancer when the world's a dumpster fire i suppose.

“The room so full of tall dudes dressed the part… It was very much the vibe you’d expect, one that left me feeling very short and very female.” This made me chuckle and nod. The “bro” vibes in running and fashion are everywhere, so much so that I’m surprised it’s still a thing. I have this little brand, Stolt Running, that I founded in 2018 making technical backpacks for runners. We went to Paris Fashion Week that year to launch the brand, and I can tell you the vibe was very different back then. This was before running became so cool that everyone tried to adopt the same look (which is weird). I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been surrounded by testosterone and feeling very female which seems to happen even more often when it comes to our speciality, technical gear. I also feel obliged to point out the lack of female founders. Yes, especially at Men’s Fashion Week. As someone else commented, we have plenty of male founders designing for women, but rarely the other way around. Loved reading this!
