Happy birthday! I’m headed to 50 this year and still feel the challenges you illustrated, even with my kids in high school and college. Keep up the good work, and move forward with no regrets!
Completely and utterly right there with you struggling with the juggle of it all under the constraints of capitalist patriarchy. I think about the motherhood penalty most days, cursing the celebration of “choice” in a rigged system! Thank you for sharing. And happy birthday!
I worked in tech at the height of the 'Lean In' era. I didn't read it then and won't read it now or ever because it doesn't acknowledge all the things you do here about the broken system pitted against women, especially mothers, and it perpetuates that awful message, "it's all on you to solve it, just try harder/try smarter/spend more money." I will always read and appreciate your words. Thank you, keep going, Happy Birthday. I'm glad you're here.
♥️as always your words hit home. Thank you for your sharing your thoughts Katie, and happy birthday!
This hit different. Glad to know I’m not alone!
you are a legend and I look up to you! when I decide to be a mother one day, I will stop by the store to request advice. happy birthday Katie!

Happy Birthday!
I'm 46 years old and feel every word of this.
Thank you, and keep going.
Not a hot mess, love the outfit, esp the pants!
This couldn't hit more to the core. Needed to be reminded that it's not all in my head and all on my shoulders. Thank you.
